Mayor Curtis told ABC4, "In 40 hours we had 30 thousand people look at the post and 700 people share a story with me about booting and towing."
Each email a story of an problem from people who have had their car towed or booted for parking where they shouldn't be.
Mayor Curtis has known about this problem since he became Mayor and decided to bring it to the attention of the city council this week. He wanted some "proof" to show the issue, but that request for input turned into an overwhelming overhaul in his email.
The Mayor says he will work with the City Council to find a solution to a problem that is pretty complex.
Mayor Curtis told ABC 4 News, "It's a complex issue with private property and what people want to do on that private property."
While the Mayor works on a solution, he can celebrate one success: he is obviously really communicating with his community.
Mayor Curtis said within 24 hours he had talked with 30,000 people. The Mayor credits Twitter, Facebook, his blog and email allowing him to welcome the people who hired him into his office.
Mayor Curtis said, "I am a normal human being, Provo hired me and I work for them."
