PERRY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A Box Elder County event helped raise funds Saturday for a young boy's surgery after he was badly burned in 2012.

In November 2012, 9-year-old Tayton Winward and four other boys were playing with gasoline when an explosion occurred. Tayton suffered severe burns in the accident. On Saturday, The Peak in in Perry held its sixth annual Splash and Dash Family Triathlon with proceeds benefitting the Tayton Winward Fund.

If you couldn't make it to the event but still want to donate, you can contact The Peak at 435-723-1280 or at
