Former Utah principal arrested for child sex abuse

- SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A former principal at an award-winning charter school in Utah has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing boys over the past 35 years.

Court documents show that Charles Weber, 65, was arrested Monday in southwestern Utah.

Weber faces six felony counts involving the sexual abuse of two boys. But authorities fear there may be more victims.

A joint state and federal investigation began when a 48-year old man told the FBI that he had been abused in the mid-1970s while he was an 11-year-old student of Weber's.

Court documents show that Weber acknowledged to FBI agents that he had sexually abused "several boys," most recently in April 2012.

Weber was principal at Soldier Hollow Charter School in Midway, Utah. The town of about 4,000 people is 30 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
