SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 News) - All mandatory evacuations in the Utah County Dump fire have been lifted. Around 5:00pm on Saturday, city leaders and fire authorities deemed the conditions safe enough for residents to return home.

Originally 588 homeowners were given mandatory orders to leave their homes on Friday. In total, over nine thousand people evacuated. A large portion of those people left their homes voluntarily.

As of Sunday evening, the fire had scorched 5,507 acres and was at 75% containment. Officials are estimating total containment by June 26.

The fire was sparked by target shooters near the landfill on Grandview Boulevard in Saratoga Springs on Thursday morning.
No charges have been filed against the people who were target shooting.
