SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A new NBC situational comedy about a gay couple will air on CW30 (KUCW) instead of the network’s Utah affiliate, KSL.

KSL announced that "The New Normal" did not meet the station's standards, and that they would not run the program because it inappropriate for broadcast during "family viewing time."

The program depicts a gay couple trying to have a baby via a surrogate mother.

CW30 will air the program on Saturdays at 10:00 p.m., beginning September 15th.

KSL has refused to run NBC programming before, most notably Saturday Night Live (which also airs on CW30 in the Utah market) and "The Playboy Club," which premiered in 2011 and was canceled shortly after.
