Bountiful, Orem to play for 4A championship

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - Bountiful and Orem both used second half surges to advance to the 4A boys basketball championship game at the Huntsman Center.

Orem pulled away from Springville behind 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists from Quin Peters. Richard Harward added 15 points, while Cooper Holt had 14 for the Tigers. Max Schreiner led the Red Devils with 13 points. Springville, which trailed by eight points at the half, trimmed the lead to three, but Orem pulled away for the victory.

The Tigers will play for its second state title in three years Saturday against Bountiful. The Braves knocked off Olympus, 63-54. Zac Seljaas led Bountiful with 22 points, while Sam Merrill added 18. The Braves made 8 of 14 three-pointers, while shooting 50 percent from the field. The Titans, who erased a 10-point deficit to take a brief lead, were led by Jordan Meacham, who scored 11 points.
