Would-be thief pulls pistol on bike owner, police say

MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Unified police need your help locating a suspect they say tried to steal a bike.

The bike was located up outside of a nail salon at 32 East 7200 South in Midvale. When the owner of the bike confronted the suspect, police say he pulled a semi-automatic pistol on the victim.

The suspect took off in white Dodge Grand Caravan with a Pittsburgh Pirates “P” sticker in the back window.  It also as an “In God We Trust” license plate.

The passenger in the van is seen in surveillance photos with a red cup. Police do not have any images of the driver at this time.
