SALT LAKE, UT (ABC4UTAH) -- Women who have overcome incredible hardship got pampered Wednesday morning.
'Women of Worth' or WoW Utah' brought at least two dozen women together for a shopping spree and makeover at JCPenney at the Shops at South Town.
This was a day for the group of women to have a day all to themselves.
The women picked out clothes, received a makeover at Sephora and got the salon treatment.
Each of them was escorted by two personal shoppers.
Teresa Aiello, "it's a stretch to get time to take for yourself and get pampered. It's a lot of fun."
JCPenney sponsored the event. They closed the store just for women such as Teresa Aiello to make sure they were getting the VIP treatment.
Judee Guay, Executive Director and Founder of WoW Utah, "today is for you, because their inside will match their outside. This is our way of saying thank you for trusting us in the space you were in and allow you to grow and be who you are today."
The women have done the hard work this past year, rebuilding their lives and their confidence.
WoW Utah empowers women and provides tools for success.
Guay, "our women have walked through this journey since January to become worthy, capable and enough to believe in themselves. They come from background of abuse, polygamy, or people who don't think they have a voice, or overcome addiction. Whatever it is, we are sisters together."
Aiello, "to be a part of WoW, it means I can rise above abuse and domestic violence and be able to know I'm a women of worth, I matter I'm worthy, I'm capable and I'm enough and that I'm able to as I take care of myself, I am better able to take care of others."
Today's makeover is part of their journey and culminates in their big transformation reveal at the 6th annual gala on November 4th.
