SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- Utah State Senator Jim Dabakis managed to boil his life down to 73 minutes and he did it without getting political.
Jim Dabakis, D-Salt Lake City, joined News4Utah in studio Monday to talk about his upcoming one-man show called "Stories From My Soul".
"Too many people think of politicians as a bundle of positions on issues--heartless and calculating (which of course is all true) but there is a lot more. So, I put this show together to tell one politicians story," he said.
The show is January 13th and 14th in the Salt Lake Acting Company's Chapel theater located at 168 West 500 North.
Dabakis says the story is "warts and all". He'll discuss his childhood in inner-city Massachusetts, growing up with mother addicted to drugs, and getting kicked out Brigham Young University.
The show will cover his many adventures from getting kidnaped to his with with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Utah's 2015 Non-Discrimination against the LGBTQ community law.
Saturday's show is at 7 p.m., Sunday's show is at 1 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets.
