Three men rob 7-Eleven armed with knives and a gun, police say

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - Police are looking for three men they say robbed a 7-Eleven with a gun and knives.

The armed robbery happened at 1:00 a.m. Saturday at 2471 South 7200 West. West Valley Police released photos on their Facebook page Wednesday night in hopes someone would recognize the suspects.

Described by police as Polynesian or Hispanic, they say one of the men had a gun and the two others had knives. They tell ABC4 Utah that the suspects demanded cash from the male clerk and then took off, possibly with the help of a get-away driver.

"He [the clerk] was threatened at gun point and one of the suspects possibly threatened him with a knife," said Lt. Kent Stokes, West Valley City Police Department. "Someone reported possibly seeing a white Honda Civic leaving the scene so we're looking at that as the possible suspect vehicle at this time."

Lt. Stokes said the clerk wasn't hurt but was shaken up.

"All of this for a small amount of cash is pretty devastating to the cashier."

Stokes believes the suspects, dressed in all black and wearing black bandanas, got away with less than $100.

"It can cost the suspects up to 15 years in prison," said Lt. Stokes. "It's definitely not worth it.Spending your life in prison for a small amount of money. Then just the trauma it causes to not only the citizens of West Valley, but this clerk will remember it for the rest of his life."
