WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A deserving family of four is relaxing inside their newly renovated home, Wednesday, thanks to a couple of companies that saw a need and stepped in to help.
For three weeks now, Citywide Home Loans and RC Willey employees have worked around the clock to pull off a total transformation including a kitchen remodel, new bathrooms, flooring, paint, appliances, and decor.
The group paid for project with money they would have spent on extravagant work Christmas parties.
Wednesday morning, the Makeovers from the Heart team welcomed the family back into their home for the first time since the remodel, and their genuine reaction had everyone in tears.
Brandon and Jaclyn Tapia have two girls, five year-old Ava and one year-old Emma. Emma has a rare brain disorder called lissencephaly that blocks development and causes seizures. Because caring for their youngest requires a lot of time, medical equipment, and money, the Tapias say their new spacious living area will make all the difference.
"It's really overwhelming to know that people care and feel that we are deserving of it," Jaclyn said.
