U.S. 40 reopens after tanker crash, fire in Uintah County

UINTAH COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) - Both directions of Highway 40 were closed late Wednesday afternoon due to a single-vehicle crash.

Utah Highway Patrol said a semi tanker hauling a by-product of the oil rigging process rolled over about seven miles east of Roosevelt near Fort Myton. The crash sparked a large fire.

Both lanes of U.S. 40 were closed, while crews worked to put out the fire and clear the crash. The highway was reopened around 8 p.m. No injuries were reported.
