BULLFROG, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Several people were injured after a houseboat exploded at the Bullfrog Fuel Dock on Lake Powell.
National Park Service personnel responded and tended to seven people ranging from ages 3 to 53 years old.
The injured were taken to Bullfrog Medical Clinic. Five were then transported to larger medical facilities.
Witnesses say that the boat had been refueled, but it came untied and started to drift from the dock. That’s when the boat operator started the vessel before proper ventilation could occur. Investigators believe that’s what caused the explosion.
The Utah State Fire Marshall and the National Park Services are both investigating the incident.
