Poor Road Conditions Delay School Bus Routes, Close Canyons

Storm Moved Across Wasatch Front Friday Afternoon

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Interstate 80 eastbound is closed at the mouth of Parleys Canyon Friday afternoon due to poor road conditions, Utah Highway Patrol says.

A strong storm moved across the Wasatch Front and brought snow, sleet and rain. Snow significantly impacted travel on mountain roads.

Park City School District reported that bus routes would be delayed due to weather conditions.

Alpine School District announced earlier in the afternoon it would delay bus travel until road conditions improved.

The National Weather Service says mountain snow will taper off Friday evening and mountain snow will continue into Saturday morning.

Officials expect winter driving conditions will continue through the evening and longer in the mountains.
