SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (News4Utah) - South Salt Lake Police are investigating the death of a 65-year-old man they said was stabbed by his 38-year-old son.
Officers responded to an apartment near 2750 South and 300 East just after 6:30 p.m. Monday. Investigators said it was some type of argument which led to the stabbing.
According to officials, the two had been living together in the apartment for three years. The son, Warren Richard Phelps, is the one who called police and they took him in for questioning shortly afterwards.
The victim was identified as Richard Phelps and the father of the suspect. The victim appeared to have been stabbed more than once. Medical personnel tried to revive him at the scene, but they were unsuccessful.
