Possible child abduction reported in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) – West Jordan police are investigating a possible child abduction Thursday.

The investigation is centered around 3951 Serenity View Drive near Jordan Landing.

Police say around 7:30 a.m., a 10-year-old boy went outside and noticed a fight between a girl and two men.

According to police, the girl between 12 and 17 years old was pushed into a large black van. One man drove off in the van. Another man took off in a white car.

Police don’t know what lead to this interaction, but they’re treating it as a child abduction.

"We don't want to fall short of if this is serious. We are hoping this is a misunderstanding we are hoping it's something less than what has been reported to us, but we have to investigate it in case it's not,” said Officer Scott List with West Jordan Police Department.

Police say the girl is blonde and they don’t have a description of the men.
