Sandy - SANDY (ABC4 Utah News) - The 2017 Utah International Auto Expo opens Friday at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy featuring over 350 new cars from 30 different manufacturers. You could run around from dealer to dealer for weeks to see all of these models of you can see them all here under one roof.
"See how they compare one to the other, you can get in one and then you can walk a short distance and then you're in another model," Basso said Thursday. "You can really do some comparing if you're shopping at all or if you're just a car enthusiast."
You can do everything car-related at the Expo but buy one. This is a non-selling show with no high-pressure salespeople.
Craig Bickmore is the Executive Director of the New Car Dealers of Utah.
"The goal is when you see these great vehicles and when you're in the market certainly go to a new car dealer within your community and purchase one of these great cars," Bickmore said. "So to me it's a showcase, it's a smorgasbord of great automobiles that all have a great smell."
Ahh the new car smell...and lots of new technology as well like the all-electric 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV.
Charlie Vogelheim is a car expert who hosts a podcast for Motor Trend Audio.
"Whether you like a coupe or an SUV or a pickup or a crossover, everyone seems to make one and they do it ever so slightly different," Vogelheim said. "I like to see the styling changes. I'm liking now how all the headlights have their own personality."
"This is your one opportunity to get in every car you've ever dreamed of," Basso said. "See how they feel and then when you're looking on the internet you've got that advantage that you've been inside and you've already checked it out."
The Expo runs Friday through Monday. For complete information including hours and ticket prices, go to http://autoshowutah.com/expo-info/
