SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - She has performed on the grandest of stages, with the best opera voices in the world.
On Friday night, Jennifer Welch-Babidge performed on the street — busking for change to help the homeless.
“I’ve performed a lot at the Metropolitan Opera, I performed throughout Europe,” said Welch-Babidge.
“I’m raising money for the children at the Road Home homeless shelter, to try and give them some Christmas gifts,” she added.
Welch-Babidge now runs a website called Busy Doing Good, where she puts up fun videos of herself to try and inspire young people to give back.
On Friday night, she performed songs for two hours. People stopped by to watch her perform and she collected more than $100 for homeless children.
“I thought that this was a really nice way to give back, use my talents to help somebody else,” she said.
Her plan is to busk every Friday night until Christmas.
