Teen injured in West Valley City shooting

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A 16-year-old boy is recovering from a gunshot wound after a drive-by shooting in West Valley City Thursday night. 

It happened in the area of 5600 West 4100 South. 

Police are looking for a female driver and two male passengers in connection with the shooting. Police say they were in a mid-size red passenger car.

Around 6:15 p.m. the car pulled up a group of five young men from a different part of town who were her to look at a car that was advertised online. Words were exchanged between the passengers of the red car and that group, according to police. 

Police say a man in the backseat wearing a hoodie and a bandana fire five shots, hitting the 16-year-old in the thigh. The suspects fled the scene. 

The victim was taken to a local hospital and was reported to be in good condition.
