DEER VALLEY, Utah (News4Utah) - Former Summer Olympic champions Simone Biles, Summer Sanders, and Missy Franklin were in Deer Valley to celebrate the kick off of the winter games. Coca-Cola was celebrating their 90 years of being part of the Olympic Games.
The soft drink company also has the largest collection of Olympic torches which was on display. Along with other memorabilia featuring Olympic athletes over the last 90 years.
The Olympians said they were excited to be celebrating another round of games. Bikes and Sanders said they are happy for all the athletes, and know how hard it is to get to that moment.
Both women recalled what it was like the moment they realized they had made it to the Summer Olympics.
"It is like elation, and relief, and every extreme emotion in between," said Sanders.
"I felt like a princess in a castle, and I was like hysterically crying," said Biles.
The multi gold winning medalists said they also realize the amount of pressure on athletes competing on the world stage. Even with the distractions, and pressure. Sanders said it makes winning that much better.
"It's one moment and you have to deliver, and when you do it's phenomenal."
The women say even those who don't come home with medals will still have the experience to remember. Biles said it was her time with teammates that she cherishes most.
"Whenever we would go back to our apartments we would just be in the room. We would really let loose and go out on the balcony. That's something I'll remember forever."
Biles and Franklin are currently training for the 2020 games which will be held in Tokyo. Sanders is now a sportscaster, and currently lives in Utah.
