New traffic meters expected to cause delays near Draper

DRAPER, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Drivers getting on northbound I-15 in Draper will want to give themselves a few extra minutes from now on.

The Utah Department of Transportation activated meters Friday that regulate traffic at the Bangerter Highway and 14600 South on-ramps to northbound I-15.

The meters will only operate during the morning and evening commutes. Driver should plan ahead and expect delays.

Ramp meters function just like traffic lights: stop at red and wait for the light to turn green before proceeding.

UDOT says the meters help ease traffic flow.
