Motorcyclist thrown through rear window of SUV during crash on I-15

ST. GEORGE, Utah (News4Utah) - The driver of a motorcycle was thrown through the rear window of a SUV after a crash on I-15 in St. George Friday.

Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened on I-15 northbound near St. George at about 1:30 a.m. between a Suzuki motorcycle, and a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The Suzuki was traveling behind the SUV in the number two lane at a higher rate of speed than the SUV and rear-ended the Tahoe. The driver of the Suzuki separated from his motorcycle, broke through the rear-window, and came to rest in inside the Tahoe.

The Suzuki flipped off to the right side of the road and impacted the guardrail. The driver of the Tahoe was able to pull off to the right-hand shoulder.

The driver of the Suzuki was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center. He is expected to survive his injuries. The driver of the Tahoe was cleared by medical personnel and later drove the Tahoe from the scene.

Troopers said acohol and speed are both believed to be factors in the crash.
