09/05/2017 - SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) McDonald's in Utah, western Wyoming and eastern Nevada invite students in their communities to rise and shine with a wholesome breakfast.

The local McDonald's restaurants partnered with the Dairy Council of Utah/Nevada and the Utah PTA to host the morning event. "We know from a great body of research that eating breakfast provides fuel for both physical and academic achievement. Sometimes finding time to eat breakfast in the morning can be a challenge," said Kristi Spence, a registered dietician and Senior Vice President for Dairy Council Utah/Nevada. "As a dietitian, I like knowing that McDonalds has nutritious, balanced options for little ones and adults who are on the go."
Over the past two years, McDonald's has made a series of changes to its menu, including the launch of All Day Breakfast, the use of real butter on English Muffins, bagels and biscuits, the removal of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives from McNuggets and its Soft-Serve as well as committing to cage-free eggs by 2025 in the U.S. and Canada, and only serving chicken made from chickens not treated with antibiotics important to human medicine**.
"McDonald's is on a journey to be better and has made numerous changes to our menu that our guests can feel good about." said Rob Sparrer, a local McDonald's owner/operator. "Something that has never changed is our commitment to the well-being of children. We are proud to offer this free breakfast with fresh, healthy ingredients to support and encourage improved nutrition choices."
