MURRAY, Utah (ABC4 News) - A man wanted out of Saratoga Springs, suspected of severely beating a woman and causing extensive injuries, was arrested at a hotel in Murray Friday night.
Saratoga Springs Police had been looking for 35-year-old Timothy Peterson after they say he forced the woman, who he knows, into his car on October 1 and assaulted her as he drove around for several hours.
Peterson then took her to Wardle Fields Regional Park near 14000 South 2700 West where an officer who was on patrol witnessed Peterson assaulting the woman. Peterson saw the officer and fled the area.
The victim has suffered extensive injuries to her head and mouth and was taken by ambulance in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable. She will require surgery for her injuries.
Peterson was found by the detectives from Saratoga Springs with the assistance of the Murray City Police and Metro Gang Unit. He arrested without incident and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
