Looking back at the Big Game's hottest commercials

2/5/2018 - SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) The Eagles win during the Big Game might be the big highlight from last night, but the commercials are what many will be talking about at the water cooler today. They're a big hit every year, and this year was no exception. Courtney Steighner from the Salt Lake advertising firm Richter 7, joined Brian Carlson, for a look back at the best ads during the game.

Tide: The Tide commercials were a big hit, because of the surprise element. They would often start out as what would appear as a boring car ad, or with David Harbour in your bathroom. But it would take a turn, and actually be an ad about clean clothes, because what else would clean clothes be an ad for besides Tide?

NY Giants: This 'Dirty Dancing' spoof had fans laughing. What started out as a normal practice day, turned into a big dance performance between Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. of "I've Had the Time of My Life," complete with the big lift. It was very impressive and entertaining.

Budweiser: The Budweiser Clydesdales took a break once again this year in the company's new and emotional commercials. Instead of promoting its beer, Budweiser used its ad to show the work that went into bottling water this year in response to numerous natural disasters all over the world, including those in Texas, California, Puerto Rico and Florida.

Doritos: No doubt Tyrion(Peter Dinklage) from 'Game of Thrones,' pulled off the year's best rap performance in this one.

Amazon Alexa: Did you know Alexa lost her voice? Don't worry, Amazon has some replacement voices featuring Rebel Wilson in a bathtub, a sweaty and mouthy Gordon Ramsay, and 'Hannibal' himself, Anthony Hopkins.

Richter7 will be holding their Ad Bowl XXIII where you can come cheer and boo for the 2018 Big Game commercials. They will be inviting their local business partners and clients to their offices, and they will vote on the best and worst, what was a waste of money, a total flop, etc. To see the results of the Ad Bowl, visit Richter7.com.
