SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Salt Lake City police are asking for the public’s help finding the person responsible for sexually assaulting a jogger.
It happened in the Liberty Wells neighborhood Friday, November 10 around 6 a.m.
Police say a woman was jogging near 1700 South 500 East when a man came up from behind and groped her. The woman, armed with a small knife, fought off her attacker and he fled.
“When the suspect grabbed her and attacked her she fought back and subsequently stabbed the assailant a couple times,” said Detective Greg Wilking with Salt Lake City police.
Police say the knife wasn't large, so there aren’t any reports of a possible suspect showing up at a hospital to receive treatment. The suspect was possibly stabbed in the leg, in the chest and/ or arms.
