Jazz Bear Makes Christmas Shopping Merry for Local Kids

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 Utah) 250 children got the chance to go Christmas shopping with some special friends on Saturday morning.

The Jazz Bear and Santa Claus rode in to the Taylorsville Walmart, waving from the ladder of a South Salt Lake fire truck.

It was a great start to the 28th Annual Firemen and Friends, Jazz Bear Christmas Shop. The children who are invited to the event come from organizations like Neighborhood House and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

They are each given $100 to spend on their Christmas wishes.

"It's a lot of fun," says Mark Eaton, retired Jazz center. "The kids have a great time. The volunteers have a great time. It's really what the Christmas spirit is all about."
