How You Can Stay Cyber Safe

1/25/2017 - SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Cyber security is a big issue right now for our country. So what can you do to be prepared? Professor Robert Jorgensen from Utah Valley University joined Good Morning Utah with Emily Clark to inform you on cyber safety.

Data Privacy Day began in the United States in 2008 and is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a nonprofit public-private partnership. NCSA's goals include educating consumers about how they can own their online presence and showing organizations how privacy is good for business.

NCSA is supported by companies like Twitter, Intel, and Cisco.
Consumers should know not only which information companies collect, but also how this data is being used and shared with others.
The Data Privacy Day page on staysafeonline.org has section named "Check Your Privacy Settings Online.” On this page, you can will find direct links to privacy information and settings for companies such as Amazon, Gmail, Facebook, and Spotify.
