How the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake is Helping Get Women Off the Streets

About 30 percent of Utah's homeless population are women. Cyndi Harris, a case manager with the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, shares some of the unique challenges homeless women face. 
 
Harris also explains how the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake City is working to help. 
 
Beyond emergency services of meals, shelter and clothing, the Rescue Mission's women center exclusively focuses on helping women off the streets.  
 
It does this focusing on the unique cause of a women's homelessness to bring healing and restoration to independent living.
 
The women's center is in need of women's boots, underwear (all sizes), coats. You may consider buying an extra item or two and dropping them off at the women's center at 1165 South State Street in Salt Lake City.
