Harmons is getting cheesy with after-school snacks the kids will love

2/27/2018 - This morning on GMU, we got cheesy with Harmons. Chef Debbie was nice enough to give us a couple recipes your kids will love snacking on when they get home from school.

Chicken Cream Cheese Pinwheels
1 green onion cheese ball
½ teaspoon ground sage
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups chicken, cooked and diced small
1 cup walnuts, chopped fine
1 package puffed pastry sheets, thawed
1 large egg, beaten (egg wash for top of pinwheels)
1 tablespoon water
1 bottle PEPPERLANE CRAN-PENO Jelly (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
In medium bowl combine cheese ball, sage and spices. Stir in chicken and walnuts. Set
In small mixing bowl beat egg with water. Set aside.
Roll each pastry sheet on lightly floured surface.
Spread half of chicken mixture along the middle of the puff pastry sheet, all the way
along the length to the ends, leaving about 1 inch of empty pastry along the length on
each side.
Roll the pastry, jelly roll style until you get to the inch of dough. Brush edge with egg
wash and continue rolling.
Press lightly on the dampened edge where it meets the roll to seal.
Using a sharp knife, cut the rolls in 1 inch slices.
Place the slices onto lightly greased baking sheet and brush the tops with egg wash.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Optional: In small saucepan heat CRAN-PENO jelly over medium heat. Drizzle over
each turnover.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional
Cream Cheese Filling
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla paste

Melt butter, add cocoa mix, until smooth. Set aside.
Mix eggs and sugar together until turns light yellow in color.
Stir in vanilla paste and chocolate mixture.
Add salt, flour and nuts. Mix until all combined.
Put batter in greased and floured 9"x 13" pan. Spread evenly.
Mix cream cheese on medium speed until smooth. Add sugar and mix. Add vanilla
paste and egg. Mix until well blended.
Place cheese mixture in spoonfuls over the whole pan, leaving some brownie showing
