CLEARFIELD, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - In Clearfield today, they were playing games and raising money for a great cause.
Dozens gathered at The End Zone to play a space war game. They paid an entry fee and got sponsors. All of the money raised today goes to The Fischer House.
The organizer says it's an idea that just makes sense.
"Because we spend so much money on our hobby, it's just a good opportunity for us to give back to our community as well," organizer Benjamin Gabbert told ABC4 Utah. "Since we meet once a month to play, might as well do something good with that time."
The Fisher House is located in Salt Lake. It is a place where veterans and their families can stay for free when they come to the V.A. Hospital for treatment.
