Former NFL player suspected in wife's death

PARK CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - Former NFL player is suspected in a domestic violence-related homicide in Park City, officials said.

Police said Anthony Darnel McClanahan, 46, was named as the primary suspect in connection with the death of his wife Keri “KC” McClanahan.

Keri was found dead at the Park Regency condominiums in Park City early Thursday. Investigators say the apparent cause of death was “knife wounds to her throat.”

Police said McClanahan was recently arrested on an unrelated child kidnapping and fugitive charges. McClanahan is wanted out of Arizona for kidnapping after police say he took his son from school and didn't return him to the boy's mother. He was arrested in Salt Lake City in early October, but missed his court date after posting bail.

No one had seen him until police were called to Park Regency condos where they discovered his wife's body. According to police, the murder case will be screened by the Summit County Attorney's Office early next week.

McClanahan reportedly played football for Washington State and the Dallas Cowboys in the 90s.
