ROY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Mark Anthony Tarantino saw a plane crash into a car — a plane that he knows could have hit him.
“If we was driving any sooner that plane could have hit us! Oh my God!” he said in a video posted to social media.
“It was shocking, bro. Absolutely shocking,” said Tarantino when he spoke to ABC4 Utah on Tuesday night.
Around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, the single-engine plane crashed near 1900 West and 4500 South in Roy.
It’s an intersection that Tarantino drives nearly every day.
“If we had left another minute or two earlier, if that light would have changed a little bit quicker, that could have been our car it landed on,” said Tarantino.
The pilot, according to officials, is 63 years old. The woman in the car his plane hit was 42.
“I thought for sure the way they hit, and they exploded — I thought for sure somebody had passed, man,” said Tarantino.
Officials have not identified the people involved in the crash. Federal investigators will work to figure out how and why the crash happened.
