CORINNE, Utah (News4Utah) - Two teenage cousins are dead and other teen is seriously injured after a dirt bike crash in Box Elder County Sunday evening.
Deputies confirm they responded to an crash involving three boys, ages 14, 15 and 16-years-old, who were riding two dirt bikes on a farm access road at around 9 p.m.
Investigators say it appears both motorcycles were going 30-40 mph at the time of the crash. Initially it was reported the two hit head on, but it was later released that they bounced off of each other at the time of impact.
15-year-old Wyatt Ellertson was killed at the scene. 14-year-old Caden Ellertson was flown via medical helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital where he died shortly after arrival, officials say.
The 16-year-old was flown to Ogden Regional Hospital and later transferred to University Hospital. His condition was reported as "stable."
Deputies say it appears two of the teens were riding one bike together and the third teen was riding the second bike at the time of the crash.
The bikes did not have headlights on either motorcycle, according to authorities and only two helmets were being used when the crash occurred.
The crash is still under investigation and officials say they did not find any evidence of impairment.
