Decomposed Body Found Near Salt Lake International Airport

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) UPDATE: The decomposed body found near the Salt Lake airport has been identified as James Delbert Bown. Police say the death is not being considered suspicious at this time. 


A decomposed body was found near the Salt Lake International Airport by a man riding his horse in the area Saturday. 

Salt Lake Police said officers responded to a call of a deceased individual found near the Duck Club when a man said he had stumbled across a body in the wetlands. 

When officers arrived, a decomposed body was found. The body was transported to the Medical Examiners office for identification and cause of death. 

Because of the decomposition, police were not able to identify the gender or the age of the individual but do believe it is that of an adult. 

Police will need to wait until an autopsy is conducted before they will know more about the circumstances that lead to the individuals death but they did say nothing suspicious was found in the immediate area.
