SPANISH FORK (News4Utah)-Dash cam video released to News4Utah Tuesday shows the dramatic moment Justin Gary Llewelyn was captured after three days on the run.
Police say back in January 33-year-old Justin Llewelyn fired shots at officers and then broke into a Herriman home shooting a stranger and then stealing a car.
When Llewelyn was spotted a few days later in Utah County, police officers from surrounding agencies jumped in to help take him down.
The video shows Llewelyn driving erratically, swerving in and out of traffic.
The pursuit went through Provo, Springville and ended with a crash in Spanish Fork.
About 8 minutes into the video you can see a Utah County deputy end the pursuit by ramming his patrol vehicle into the truck Llewelyn was driving.
"Sometimes in our job it takes a certain level of violence to stop a violent person and that's what happened here," Lt. Erik Knutzen with Utah County Sheriff's Office said.
Lt.Knutzen said he never thought Llewelyn would end up in their jurisdiction, but his officers were ready to take action.
Last month charges were filed against Llewelyn including two counts of attempted criminal homicide, aggravated murder, and aggravated burglary.
