SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (News4Utah) One person is dead and another was injured after a fatal rollover crash along Redwood Road about three miles south of Saratoga Springs.

This all happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Officials say a pickup truck was heading northbound on Redwood, and for and some reason the driver lost control. The truck began to roll and struck the power pole.

Police took longer than normal to investigate the crash because downed power lines prevented them from getting close to the scene.

The driver who is a male was pronounced dead at the scene, but the female passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

Police have notified the victim’s parents, but they are not releasing his name yet.

Crews with Rocky Mountain Power had to shut off the power and are worked to replace the downed pole. We are told that nearby residents do still have power.

Both directions of Redwood were closed for several hours, but crews managed to open at least one lane by 7:30 p.m.
