Community remembers innocent couple killed after drive-by shooting

KEARNS, Utah (ABC4 News) - They were engaged to be married. A loving couple just driving home after a long day. Killed, police say, when a truck full of suspects speeding from a gang-related shooting hit their vehicle.

On Wednesday night, dozens of people gathered at the location where Tami Woodard and Lloyd Pace were killed Tuesday to honor their lives.

“This shouldn’t have happened. For stupidity and ignorance. The violence has to stop. They didn’t deserve to die,” said Taneel Pace, niece of Lloyd Pace.

Niki Hall is another niece who is struggling with the loss.

“They completed each other, really — and they loved each other so much,” said Hall.

“They were three minutes from home, and this happens,” she added.

On Thursday night, the community is expected to gather at Kearns High School to sound off about recent gang violence.

If you would like to help the family deal with funeral expenses, the family has a fund set up through Mountain America Credit Union. The fund is called the Lloyd E Pace Memorial Fund.
