Commercials Wirth remembering

"Where's the beef?"

You can watch the old black and white television shows on MeTV, but what about those old commercials?

Good4Utah’s Craig Wirth dove deep into the old film boxes to take a look at some of the commercials of our past as we near our 70th year.

You might remember in 1984 Wendy’s gave the world the question, “Where’s the beef?”

Alka-Seltzer invented phrases, like “Momma Mia, that's a spicy meatball” and “Try it, you’ll like it”, that used to be quoted about as much as Shakespeare.

Generations can be measured by what Coke advertisement was popular in one’s younger years.

And you are not a child of the 80’s if you don’t who Mikey, from the classic ‘Life’ cereal ads, is.

And who doesn’t remember ‘Mr. Whipple’ telling America, “Squeeze the tomatoes, squeeze the melons, but please don't squeeze the Charmin”?

We remember these commercials, even after years and years.

More people remember ‘Mean’ Joe Greene from his Coca-Cole commercial than from his hall of fame football career.

And anyone who didn’t enjoy Oscar Mayer’s, classic, commercial is full of ‘B-O-L-O-G-N-A'.
