Breaking down the 2016 Asset Forfeiture Report

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) - The Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice recently released its 2016 Asset Forfeiture Report that shows all of the cash and other property seized during investigations of mostly alleged drug crimes.

Law enforcement agencies say this is a key tool to fighting large-scale crime operations or drug kingpins, while also helping to fund key programs or buy equipment.

Conner Boyack with the Libertas Institute joined Inside Utah Politics to discuss what the report reveals.
