A message from Richard Doutré Jones, General Manager of ABC4 Utah, Utah’s CW30, and MeTV Utah:
On Sunday, September 27th, 2015, ABC will premiere ‘Quantico’ – an exciting new drama about young FBI recruits, one of whom might be involved in a terror attack on New York City.
We have previewed Sunday’s episode and while we agree with the critics, Quantico is a terrific new show, there is a small portion in this first episode only, which presents an inaccurate, and to some, offensive portrayal of the LDS faith.
We have made a good faith effort to educate ABC about LDS Faith and missionary work, as well as why some aspects of the Quantico story line is offensive to Mormons.
We appreciate ABC’s willingness to make corrections to the show, but some elements we wanted changed could not be fully edited or removed.
At Good4Utah we believe misrepresenting anyone’s faith or beliefs in the name of “entertainment” or “artistic license” is never justified, but we also do not condone censorship, which is why are going to air Quantico in its entirety, and allow our viewers to reach their own conclusions about the content.
Again, despite this issue, we believe Quantico is a show worth watching but if you find elements of this show to be offensive, we suggest you contact ABC Network to voice your feelings:
