First grade student hit by car near Fremont Elementary

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 Utah) A 7-year-old boy is hospitalized after an auto-pedestrian crash near Fremont Elementary School Thursday afternoon. 

Fremont Elementary School is located at 4249 S. Atherton Drive in Taylorsville. 

Witnesses say the child ran out into the street and was hit by a car traveling southbound. 


The child was taken to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition, but his condition has since been upgraded to fair. Police say the boy suffered some broken bones. 

 

*Editor's note: Previous versions of this story stated the boy was 10 years old as reported by police. Police have since corrected his age to 7.
