RIVERTON, Utah (News4Utah) – One man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was involved in a crash with truck hauling drywall.
The crash happened Tuesday around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Bangerter Highway and 12600 South.
A southbound truck carrying a drywall load attempted to make a right turn onto 12600 South. When the driver turned, the load shifted. This caused the truck to overturn on its side.
Part of the truck landed on three vehicles that were stopped in the eastbound lanes of 12600 waiting for the light to turn.
A small white car was first in line it and it was crashed by the truck. Its driver, who had to be rescued from his car, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The three occupants of the truck were also injured, but police reported their condition as “fair.”
Roads in the area were closed for hours as crews worked to clean up the crash.
