UPDATED: Dec 24 at 7:30 a.m. The Lindon City boil order is still in effect until further notice. New water samples were taken last night and will continue to be taken today. Testing incubation at the lab takes up to 24 hours for results.
City officials said they will notify the public as soon as Lindon and State officials have confidence that the water system is safe for consumption without boiling.
LINDON CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Lindon City issued a boil order Friday evening after water samples tested positive for E. coli. bacteria.
E. coli can cause stomach or intestinal illness. This order is in effect until further notice. The water system is being flushed and re-tested. Lindon City is currently working with the Utah County Health Department and the State Division of Environmental (Water) Quality to ensure the safety of the water system.
The city is advising residents to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes.
