TERRA, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)- One of six active wildfires continues to burn in Tooele County.  Fire fighters say the Patch Springs Wildfire started from a lightning strike on Saturday.  Firefighters spent all Monday working to limit the spread and contain the wildfire.  More than a hundred fire fighters will monitor the flames overnight.

"It's  basically just a mix and its meant to slap on the fuels and its basically a fire suppressant. fire will hit it and it wont burn as easily," said Bureau of Land Management Engine Captain Nate Hunter.

Planes circle over the Patch Springs Wildfire dropping a mist of red retardant all in the fight to battle the more than 6,800 acre wildfire in Tooele County

"If the wind came up real violently that would be a problem.  we have some trigger points established and we will communicate that if needed," said Hunter.

Just over the flames sits the small town of Terra.  People there have not been evacuated as they continue to wait for this scary scene to come to an end.

"If the wind came up real violently that would be a problem.  we have some trigger points established and we will communicate that if needed," said Hunter.

Firefighters have already called for backup.  More than a hundred firefighters will be here by Tuesday morning.  More planes will come back to drop more retardant as well.

"We're going to be up with the planes the air attack the helicopter we're getting crews in we're getting engines we're going  to be fully loaded," said Hunter.

The firefighters will sleep in tents in shifts as the battle the heat, smoke, and the relentless thirst of the wildfire to spread.

"We are calling it only five percent just because today and yesterday was a defensive day and we're hoping to go offensive tomorrow (Tuesday) and we will have more progress," said Hunter.
