This event symbolizes the challenges individuals face during the cancer journey, pays tribute to their courage and determination, and honors the memory of people whose lives have been lost to cancer.
The events include:
THE JOURNEY HIKE: The Journey Hike (this year to the top of Peruvian Gulch) symbolizes the individual journey and “summit” each person with cancer and their families face when receiving a cancer diagnosis. It is symbolic for those fighting cancer and for those honoring the memory of a loved one. Those unable to hike may take the tram or chairlift at no additional charge.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE CEREMONY: The Celebration of Life ceremony features:
Tiffany Berg, speaker, author (If Cancer Was A Fish… I’d Throw It Back), board certified chaplain and Mrs. Utah United States who cared for husband who she lost to cancer five years ago Lane Merritt, Cancer Wellness House member fighting stage 4 prostate cancer
TRIBUTE FLAGS: Modeled after traditional Tibetan prayer flags, Tribute Flags honor those who are affected by cancer, survivors and those who have passed away. Hundreds of these flags greet hikers at the summit
PANCAKES ON THE PLAZA: The day starts out with a good, old-fashioned mountain breakfast served from 8:30 to 10:30. Breakfast is included with registration. Additional breakfast tickets may be purchased for $5 each.
SILENT AUCTION: Silent Auction featuring outstanding products! One hundred percent of proceeds benefit Cancer Wellness House!
There will be live music courtesy of: Dunmore Lasses (during breakfast) and Chelsey Stallings (during Celebration of Life ceremony)
