Carne Asada

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Good4Utah's Aldo Vazquez joined us in the kitchen with a delicious, authentic recipe! 

Carne Asada 

Ingredients:

  • Beef/ steak/ ranchero meat or milanesa steak
  • Lemon pepper
  • Pepper
  • Tajin (seasoning)
  • Garlic salt
  • Longaniza (Spanish sausage similar to chorizo)

Prep:

  • Pre-wash meat and slice up into small portions

 

Directions:

  1. Place meat into fry pan over medium to medium-high heat.
  2. Add lemon pepper, pepper, Tajin, garlic salt (to taste and your preference)
  3. Allow the meat to cook until it begins to darken.
  4. Then add Longaniza into the pan and stir around allowing ingredients to fully cook (this typically takes about 10 minutes)
  5. Then heat up tortillas and prepare tacos and or burritos.

 

Guacamole

Ingredients: 

  • 4-6 avocados
  • Lemon
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Cilantro
  • Salt

Directions:

  1. Combine avocados into bowl and mash
  2. Chop up tomatoes, cilantro, and onion (how much of each is dependent on your preference, typically one tomato and onion is sufficient unless you want more)
  3. Add tomatoes, cilantro, and onion to mashed avocados and mix
  4. Sprinkle salt and lemon to taste and for consistency to your preference
