Smith’s produce departments will display the elements needed for perfect guacamole, as well as provide samplings of pineapple, mango and jicama complemented by Tajin spice. Fresh tilapia, shrimp ceviche, chorizo and marinated cuts of beef, pork and chicken will be featured in Smith’s meat and seafood departments. Hot churros will be available throughout the day for 99 cents each. Traditional Tres Leche cakes, mango cake and caramel iced cupcakes will inspire the customer seeking an authentic Mexican dessert option.
Chef Manolli whipped up some Fresh Guacamole and Shrimp Cocktail today. The recipes for both of these flavor-filled dishes can be found in the pamphlets at any Smith's location.
The Taste of Mexico, event runs from June 4th through the 24th. Customers can enjoy the complete Taste of Mexico experience each Saturday from Noon until 5 PM. The Discovery Tasting Station will offer samples and recipes; stores will host games and spin-to-win wheels for coupons and prizes. Children’s piñata breaks will take place at intervals throughout the day.
