Utah's Own Products: Biscotti and Coffee

Sheer Ambrosia Bakery’s
Biscotti line called
Sweet Sofia’s*

The word “biscotti” comes from the Latin word biscoctus, which means “twice cooked/baked.” Biscotti originally referred to all oven-baked goods that used this process of drying the goods out so as to extend the shelf life for longer intervals. In antiquity, it was during periods of war and long trips, that preserving provisions using this method was ideal. Today, however, biscotti are better known as the long, slender, not too sweet, slightly domed cookies from Italy that are perfect complements to a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

•Sheer Ambrosia Bakery was first known for its baklava. Daily Rise’- Cold Brew Coffee

A unique process in which the coffee is steeped with cold water for an extended period of time in keg barrels and slowly dripped through a triple filtration set up. The finished product is clean, naturally sweet, with a hint of chocolate and best consumed ice cold straight from the bottle.

The Cold Brew Coffee has 308 mg. of caffeine, roughly equivalent to two cups of coffee or a quad shot of espresso

We created this product to be able to drink straight from the bottle. If this is not your preference, pour over ice with your favorite add-in (a local honey is a great add-in) or blend into a shake.

The Daily Rise Coffee has been a continually changing and evolving company since it initially opened its first drive-through location in 2004 in Ogden, Utah. The owners relocated to Utah because of their love for the outdoors and the vision and direction the city was heading- making it a wonderful place to live, work and recreate.

The company motto, “Promoting Positive Energy” was eagerly seen and experienced all over Ogden because of the energy and excitement to get out and become an active participant in the city’s events and fundraisers.

Daily Rise was founded on its mission statement: Our Company is dedicated to creating and building long-term quality relationships both within the Company and the community by consistently serving the highest-quality product in the most convenient way possible.

“We are dedicated to only using premium ingredients at our coffee shop and providing 100% all natural products wherever possible–our syrups, coffee & tea, smoothies, and other ingredients are top of the line”.

After much consideration and thought, owners Jeff and Beth Furton decided that they wanted to take the Daily Rise in a new direction, creating a coffee brand and recognition that would sustain through their drive-throughs, but would also be known and tasted through other busy, committed, quality establishments. From there, the Daily Rise Roasting Company was formed in 2012. The company wanted to create a unique roasting location that could encompass the full coffee roasting and distributing process, along with a quaint, stylish coffee bar atmosphere that would be used for potential new wholesale accounts, and as an education setting for their employees and customers to experience fresh coffee at its most simple and elegant form.

COLD BREW PROCESS
We start with superior, organic, South American beans, and then roast them in small batches to meet our Cold Brew profile.

We roast, brew and bottle all by hand, under one roof, with a careful eye for perfection.

Our custom modified kegs allow our Cold Brew to steep for an extended period of time. Our unique gravity-fed process through three filters allows our Cold Brew to slowly drip and extract the sweetness that sets our product apart from the competition.
