Grand opening of UVU Student Life & Wellness Center, Thursday, April 17.
Ribbon-cutting 2 p.m., then from 3-10 p.m. open to public for free use & activities going on throughout evening:
  • food sample tastings
  • body composition testing in the demonstration kitchen
  • hot shot competition on the basketball courts
  • black-light bowling
  • track obstacle course
  • climbing wall challenge
Focus of new building: Enrich body, mind and spirit through fitness, recreation & education

What the UVU Student Life and Wellness Center offers:
  • basketball courts
  • indoor track
  • fitness and dance rooms
  • workout areas with state-of-the-art equipment
  • climbing wall
  • bowling alley
  • game center
  • study rooms
  • massage therapy
  • reflection room (provides a relaxing space for meditation to help students manage their stress)
  • fitness classes
  • outdoor adventure trips
  • sporting events
  • classes for community members offered through UVU Continuing Education, such as bike repair/maintenance, hip hop dance, healthy cooking, personal finance, youth sports camps
  • Offices: Student Life, UVU Student Association, student newspaper. 

From April 17 - May 1 the UVU SLWC will offer free use of the facilities to anyone in the community. Throughout the summer we will have movie nights, farmers markets, group community bike rides and a 10K that we are co-sponsoring with Provo Recreation for the public, so keep checking back to our website for those dates to be finalized: uvu.edu/slwc
